Welcome to Thames Beachcombing!
come and explore 10,000 years of London's dynamic history...


Running through the heart of London, the River Thames has played a central role in the history of the city and when the tide is low, the capital's longest archaeological site is revealed!


You will find everything from bits of pottery, clay pipes, bottles, animal bones

to ship items.  Most of the things you will find are from the Medieval to

Victorian periods of history or you might be lucky and find something

Roman or older.


We will be able to tell you what you have found and how old it is.  We spend

about 1h 30mins on the foreshore.


Cost is £15 for adults, under 16's are £5 (payable by cash when you turn
up).

We will provide plastic gloves to stop your hands getting dirty and bags.  The foreshore is quite stony and sometimes muddy, so please wear sensible shoes - walking boots/wellington boots etc.  Examples of things we have found below:
